The Chetco River’s hatchery steelhead program relies on volunteers to be successful. Guides and their customers donate wild fish to be used at the hatchery to produce juvenile steelhead. Private anglers also donate fish. A lot of the work is done by Oregon South Coast Fishermen, the local fishing club in Brookings.
