In their honor, a replica of the P-51 Mustang Red Tail that was flown by the first Black Americans allowed to fly for the U.S. armed forces during the war was assembled at Sumter Veterans Park last year, and on last Friday, Feb. 9, it was officially dedicated to the Tuskegee Airmen.
