To get really flexible it’s a good idea to add some active mobility at the end of your flexibility work. . Active mobility is when you take a joint through its full range of motion under control of said joint i.e. no external force manipulation the joint. . A great example are these hip rotation drills after a splits or pancake stretching session. . Try to feel a constant stretch as you rotate and actively pull yourself deeper into it. .
