A fundraiser for the family members of the man who opened fire in a Michigan church and set it ablaze has raised over $275,000.

Organizers with Indivisible Greater Kalamazoo are inviting community members of any political orientation to attend a "No Kings" rally later this month.

In addition to Columbus Day, Michigan residents can celebrate a number of special days in October as they look ahead to Halloween.

The annual Greater Philadelphia MLK Day of Service, one of the region’s largest volunteering and charitable events, will be hosted by Temple University next year for the first time since 2009.

According to Mid Michigan Community Action, more than 350 children and their families are served each year through Head Start and Early Head Start.
