As much as the Mets have struggled offensively, the club’s president of baseball operations isn’t blaming his hitting coaches.

No one has caught the hatred of Mets fans this season more than hitting coach Eric Chavez. While firing him mid-season seems pointless, his larger body of work shows that the Mets should move on this offseason.
