Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis alleged Mario Batali wrote in her cookbook forward that her success was about her body, not talent.

Giada De Laurentiis is calling out Mario Batali for comments she claims he made in the original foreword to her book Everyday Italian. “This is a person we’re not supposed to talk about, but we’re going to,” De Laurentiis said during an appearance on Samah Dada’s YouTube show, On the Menu.

When Giada De Laurentiis published her first cookbook Everyday Italian, in 2005, she was ecstatic to have lined up a foreword from celebrity chef Mario Batali, who was already a "legend in the Italian space." But the submission was not what the former Food Network host expected.
