Crystal Palace keeper Dean Henderson believes that the Europa League would be “devalued” if the club are dropped from the continent’s second-tier competition as they await their fate at the hands of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Dean Henderson has further endeared himself to Crystal Palace fans after putting £1,000 behind the bar of a nearby pub following his heroics in the side’s Community Shield victory over Liverpool.

Crystal Palace pulled off another Wembley upset by beating Premier League champion Liverpool to lift the Community Shield on Sunday. After stunning Manchester City in the FA Cup final in May, Palace defied the odds again — winning a penalty shootout 3-2 after the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
