MUMBAI (Reuters) - A man thought to be a citizen of Bangladesh was arrested in India's financial capital Mumbai on Sunday and is considered the prime suspect in the stabbing of Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan,

( MENAFN - IANS) Mumbai, Jan 21 (IANS) bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who underwent surgery after getting multiple stabs during a robbery attempt in his Bandra home, will be discharged from the hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

The actor had sustained six stab wounds, two of which were said to be serious as they were closer to his spine, in an attempt to fight off a burglar at his residence

The arrested accused in the stabbing attack on Bollywood actor was taken to different locations by the Mumbai police

The shocking nature of the attack raised serious concerns regarding security at the 'Satguru Sharan' building where Khan lives.

Saif Ali Khan was attacked during a robbery at his home. The suspect, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, has been apprehended amid ongoing investigations.

Shehzad, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi man, was arrested on Sunday morning (January 19) from Thane city. Mumbai Police claim he is a native of the Jhalokati district in Bangladesh. The accused was about to flee to his native village when he was detained at Hiranandani Estate in Thane

The fingerprints of the accused have been found at the crime scene, including the bathroom window from where he entered and exited, the duct shaft and the ladder he used to enter from the duct
