Change is afoot for airports and travelers across the country. Effective immediately, the TSA will no longer require passengers to take off their shoes while going through security checkpoints.

Travelers at Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport can now keep their shoes on while passing through security checkpoints. The Department of Homeland Security announced this change earlier this week,

For the past 19 years, travelers have become conditioned to slipping off their shoes upon getting to Transportation Security Administration checkpoints at the airport.
