Communicable Disease Program has confirmed the county’s first human case of West Nile virus. According to a Yolo County press release sent out Thursday evening, the individual, a Davis resident, was hospitalized for their illness.

DUPAGE COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- The city of Naperville is taking action after mosquitoes there tested positive for West Nile Virus. The traps were on Oleson Drive and Jackson Avenue. Crews have sprayed the immediate area. Official are also asking people to get rid of standing water, which can be a haven for mosquito eggs.
