Entire villages were swept away as torrential rain caused deadly flash floods and landslides in India-controlled Kashmir and northern Pakistan. Dramatic video shows the devastation in the neighboring countries as the death toll is expected to rise.
Hundreds more were missing, many of them Hindu pilgrims, after a cloudburst triggered flooding in mountainous terrain.
The officials said the cloudburst hit Jod Ghati in Rajbagh area of the district during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, snapping access to the village and causing some damage to land and property.
Partly cloudy weather with rain, winds and thundershowers is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, Potohar region, North-East Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan. Isolated heavyfalls are also expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar region and Kashmir.
