The Los Angeles Chargers have done a lot this offseason to try and bolster their roster around Justin Herbert and set the offense up for success over the next couple of years.

The Chargers announced Williams’ retirement Thursday, and the news came as a “shock” to the organization, according to ESPN.

“I want what’s best for Mike. He’s always been there for us, and we’re going to be there for him,” quarterback Justin Herbert said, according to the team’s website.
