New attractions this year include the 42m (140ft) high Oggy the Friendly Dragon which will join the many balloons in the skies. Disney's 'Up' balloon, Slick the Dragon and Astro the Alien are also set to return. The night glow spectacle will also return for two nights - on Friday and Saturday.

The second day of the 47th Bristol International Balloon Fiesta gets underway this morning (Saturday, August 9). The free-to-attend family-friendly will see a scheduled mass ascent at 6am after green smoke gave the signal, as well as another this evening at 6pm (later weather permitting).

During Friday's first mass ascent of the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, you might have spotted the Teenage Cancer Trust hot air balloon floating in the skies above the city. Inside the basket was the hugely talented James Burrows, who overcame cancer to get his pilot licence.
