Magistrate orders offer more details on Southport mass shooting
Three days have passed since a mass shooting in Southport and more details as to what happened the night of Sept. 27 are emerging. As of 1 p.m. Sept. 30, the only court documents available to the public outlining the mass shooting in Southport are magistrate orders.
An Oak Island man accused of killing three people in a mass shooting at a Southport bar over the weekend is a combat veteran who says he suffers from PTSD, according to Southport police.
The family has confirmed that a local woman was one of three people killed when a gunman opened fire at a waterfront bar in Southport.
He is being held without bail, the records show. Nigel Max Edge is also being held on five counts of attempted first-degree murder for the mass shooting. WECT confirmed that Edge is being held in connection with the American Fish Company shooting. The motive is not yet clear.
