The Patriots announced that McDaniels has been hired as the offensive coordinator on new head coach Mike Vrabel's staff on Wednesday. It is the third time that McDaniel has served in the role as he had two stints working for Bill Belichick and was part of six Super Bowl winners in New England.

After naming Josh McDaniels their offensive coordinator, Mike Vrabel and the Patriots have found their defensive coordinator.

Williams will join offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and special teams coordinator Jeremy Springer on head coach Mike Vrabel’s staff. He worked with Vrabel for six years (2018-2023) with the Tennessee Titans, and was most recently a defensive line coach and run game coordinator for the Detroit Lions this past year.

Mike Vrabel has found his coordinators, but his work in filling out the Patriots' coaching staff is far from done.

The 50-year-old Williams coached defensive line for Mike Vrabel for six seasons in Tennessee, also serving as the team’s assistant head coach for Vrabel’s final season.

Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel’s first staff in New England is continuing to come together. ESPN reports that Terrell Williams will be Vrabel’s defensive coordinator during the 2025 season. Williams was identified as the team’s top choice earlier this week.
