Americans are concerned about crime, but don't broadly support President Trump's deployment of the National Guard to U.S. cities, according to a new NPR-IPSOS poll.
An NPR-Ipsos poll published Saturday found that 49% of respondents oppose the deployment of National Guard troops to a major city in their state for law enforcement efforts, while 38% said they would support the move and 12% said they were unsure.
In a four-day Washington Post-Ipsos poll released Sept. 18, the president's approval rating stood at 43%, with 56% disapproving. The numbers are a slight uptick in his overall rating compared to the pollsters' last survey in April, which saw a near-historic low approval of 39%, with a similar 55% disapproval.
After defeating SMU 35-24 on Saturday, most expected the Horned Frogs to appear in the polls, as they received votes in both polls the week before. When the polls were released on Sunday, that expectation came true. TCU is ranked No. 24 in the Week Five AP Top 25 and No. 25 in this week's Coaches Poll.
