The Chicago Blackhawks drafted the top-ranked international player with the No. 3 pick in Friday’s NHL draft in 18-year-old Swedish forward Anton Frondell.

The Chicago Blackhawks had two picks in the first round of the 2025 NHL Draft. After taking Anton Frondell, they added a fast-riser with their second pick. The Blackhawks selected Muskegon Lumberjacks forward Vaclav Nestrasil with the No. 25 overall pick of the NHL Draft.

If they stay at No. 8, I think O'Brien is the pick, unless they opt for Roger McQueen. Seattle is one of the deepest teams when it comes to young centers with Matty Beniers, Shane Wright and Berkly Catton all age 22 or younger. O'Brien is a high-end talent and might allow the Kraken to move Catton to the wing in the top six.
