WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Tuesday said several large trade agreements were still waiting to be completed, including with Switzerland and India, but the South Asian country had been "a bit recalcitrant" in talks with the United States.

United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said that India has been “a bit recalcitrant” in its trade talks with the US. “The big trade deals that aren’t done or aren’t agreed - Switzerland is still around, India has been a bit recalcitrant,” he told Fox Business.

Trade negotiations between India and the U.S. face challenges as tariffs are imposed, with hopes for agreements by October.
