The Buffalo Sabres traded forward J.J. Peterka to the Utah Mammoth, the teams announced. The Mammoth and Sabres announced the swap Wednesday night. The Mammoth sent winger Josh Doan and defenseman Michael Kesselring to the Sabres in the deal.

Armstrong said Peterka was “excited to come to Utah” and mentioned the new practice facility, the Delta Center environment and the overall direction of the team as factors in that.

Buffalo traded Peterka, 23, to the Mammoth in exchange for defenseman Michael Kesselring and right winger Josh Doan. Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli and Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman were among those who reported the trade before the teams announced it Wednesday night.
