It’s been more than a decade since a team from Nevada won the U.S. side of the Little League World Series, but this year’s Summerlin South team has done that and now has a chance for something never before achieved by a team from The Silver State – to win the whole thing.

Fairfield National beat Aruba 4-2 to win third place in the Little League World Series Sunday morning in Williamsport, Pa.

While this won't keep the Padres from winning the World Series, it at least will make their path a lot more challenging. San Diego needs their sluggers to turn the corner and hit more home runs if it wants better odds come October.
