A heat wave gripping the Pacific Northwest has prompted an extreme heat warning in Oregon. How high will temperatures get?

After a sizzling Sunday, Oregonians are gearing up for two more scorchers before temperatures start to cool off midweek. The National Weather Service placed much of the northwest portion of the state — from the Washington border south past Eugene — under extreme heat warnings through Tuesday night.

An extreme heat warning across Western Washington is in effect through 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to an advisory from the Seattle branch of the National Weather Service. Temperatures at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport will reach 89 degrees Monday and Tuesday and 82 degrees Wednesday,
