Nikon has revealed the winners of the 15th annual Nikon Small World in Motion Video Competition. The contest recognizes the most dynamic microscopic movies or digital time-lapse photography each year.

YEAST CELLS — Brewing yeast cells are seen under a microscope as part of a study on nonalcoholic beer. Credit must be given to the creator. Only noncommercial uses of the work are permitted.

When placed inside an electron microscope, the familiar goldenrod transforms into a world of alien-like textures, spiky pollen grains, and intricate cell structures invisible to the naked eye.
