New Washington Wizards guard Marcus Smart (recently traded) didn’t play in the team’s 125-11 home loss to the Atlanta Hawks (25-28) on Saturday night, but he introduced himself to the fanbase anyway.

The Marcus Smart era with the Grizzlies came to an end right before Thursday’s trade deadline. Smart is headed from the Grizzlies to the Wizards in a multi-team trade as first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania. The Grizzlies are sending a first-round pick to the Wizards while Memphis gets two second-round picks.

The tight-knit Memphis Grizzlies stood relatively pat through the NBA Trade Deadline. Marcus Smart and Jake LaRavia are gone, but the core of the squad remains intact. There was no wavering from the plan by GM Zach Kleiman’s front office.
