Part of a Manchester city centre building collapsed following a scaffolding failure during demolition work on Friday (October 24). Alberton House, off Bridge Street, is being knocked down to make way for a new development.

Alberton House is one of several buildings damaged by the blast of an IRA bomb planted in a car at nearby Parsonage Gardens.
