That addition happens to be Zootopia’s newest resident, Gary De’Snake, who is played by the always fantastic Ke Huy Quan. Gary opens up the world in a number of ways, as he won’t be the only reptile introduced in the film, and that was one of the most pressing challenges for the team at the start of the project.

Polygon got the chance to preview footage from Zootopia 2 and talk to people who worked on the project, including Howard and co-director Jared Bush, who previously partnered on Zootopia and Encanto. We learned a few fun details about the animation,

"Zootopia 2" started with a doodle. When directors Byron Howard and Jared Bush were finishing work on "Encanto," Bush drew a logo for a sequel to "Zootopia." It was the name of the movie with a "2" - and the "2" was a snake.

Wide-eyed rabbit Judy Hopps and con artist fox Nick Wilde reunite with new voice cast members Quinta Brunson and Ke Huy Quan in the animated sequel to hit theaters on Nov. 26.

Disney released a new preview for "Zootopia 2," featuring the voices of Jason Bateman, Ginnifer Goodwin and Ke Huy Quan as Nick, Judy and a snake, respectively.

"We love this world. We love hanging out with these characters. We love continuing their journey," says Jared Bush, who also wrote the film.
