Assassin’s Creed Shadows has seen over 3 million players in the week since launch, Ubisoft has announced. But there's still no sales figure.

Much to Shadow's credit, reaching 3 million players in such a short span is no small feat. This proves that while the controversy surrounding the recent game might have cost Ubisoft some respect, in contrast, it helped pique an interest in players to check what all the fuss was about.

Ubisoft is spinning off some of its top franchises, including "Assassin’s Creed," "Far Cry" and "Rainbow Six," into a new subsidiary funded by Tencent.
