Huge swathes of the south east are expected to see blustery conditions over the next few days as the Met Office issued two yellow warnings for wind. A yellow warning for strong winds is in place for Kent and Sussex from 07:00 until 18:00 GMT on Thursday,

Storm Éowyn is gathering strength, supercharged by the Arctic blast that moved through the US, and has the potential to trigger power outages and travel disruptions across the UK later this week.

Storm Eowyn is set to hit the UK with strong winds on Friday and into Saturday, the Met Office has said, with yellow weather warnings issued for most of the country. The forecaster warned that the winds will lead to disruptions such as damage to buildings,

The strong winds could lead to power cuts, travel disruption, damage to buildings and infrastructure, and injuries due to flying debris and large coastal waves. During this time, wind gusts up to 70mph (115km/h) are expected quite widely inland, and up to 80mph (130km/h) in some areas.

According to the Met Office, Storm Éowyn will bring strong winds to the area throughout Friday and Saturday which could pose a risk to those out and about or travelling.
