Head athletic trainer Andy Hosler came out to check on Shesterkin, who stayed on the ice for a while before struggling to get up on his feet. He put minimal weight on his left leg as he was helped off the ice by defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov and the trainer.
New York Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin was helped off the ice on Monday, Jan. 5, after a collision in the crease. Utah Mammoth forward JJ Peterka appeared to make only minimal contact with Shesterkin as he attempted to stop, but the goalie fell backward into his net and slammed his blocker on the ice in pain.
