Officials in Kalispell, a town north of Helena, said authorities responded to the scene of a plane crash at Kalispell City Airport around 2:08 p.m.

Officials with Red Eagle Aviation, Inc. confirmed the cause of an aircraft accident on Monday afternoon at the Kalispell City Airport was a result of pilot error when the plane crashed on the runway,

A preliminary investigation showed the pilot lost control, crashing onto the runway before the plane struck several parked aircraft, igniting fires on multiple planes, Kalispell police said.
