The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a trough of low pressure located over the panhandle of Florida. It is in the process of moving westward into the northeastern Gulf of Mexico and stay right along the coast as it moves west.

All eyes are on the tropics, as a cluster of thunderstorms moves across the northern Gulf with the potential for flooding rainfall. If the system gets into the warm Gulf, there is some potential for further development,

The 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, which is expected to be more active than usual, has so far produced three named storms. The latest, Tropical Storm Chantal, impacted the Carolinas and the mid-Atlantic states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
