Hobart Hurricanes secured a place in the final of the 2025 Big Bash League by beating Sydney Sixers by 12 runs in the qualifier in Hobart. After setting the Sixers 174 to win, the Hurricanes took wickets in each of the first three overs to reduce the visitors to 5-3.

Melbourne Stars thrashed Hobart Hurricanes by 40 runs to seal their place in the Big Bash League knockouts. Stars, who won their final five games after starting with five defeats, posted 219-5 with 76 not out of 32 balls and Beau Webster making 51 off 31 balls.

The Hobart Hurricanes have qualified for the Big Bash League final and will have a shot at their first title after beating the Sydney Sixers by 12 runs.
