Authorities say a landslide triggered by heavy rain likely caused a train to derail in southern Germany, killing two rail workers and a passenger.

The train driver, another rail employee and one passenger died, while 41 people were injured, prosecutors say.

A regional passenger train derailed near the southern German city of Ulm on Sunday night, killing at least three passengers and injuring others, according to the police. The cause of the accident, which appears to have occurred just after 6 p.m., was under investigation.
